Amazon Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) is increasing storage costs in 2018.
Monthly storage fees will increase by $0.05 per cubic foot as of April 1, 2018.
Items stored in FBA warehouses for 365 days or more will be charged a minimum of $0.50 per unit per month.
The semi-annual assessment of long-term storage fees was replaced by a monthly assessment on this date.
Storage restrictions are determined by the Inventory Performance Index for Amazon merchants with professional seller accounts.
If you have unsold stock, consider reviewing your pricing and repricing techniques.
You can conduct promotions such as "buy one, get one free" to clear excess inventory and gather good feedback from customers.
If necessary, you can request Amazon to remove specific items from your inventory.
Amazon provides guidance on restocking, managing inventory, and disposing of surplus inventory without impacting your return on investment.
